Allegiant Baggage Fees (2026)

Allegiant's base fare includes only one free personal item (up to 8 × 14 × 18 in), a carry-on (up to 10 × 16 × 22 in) costs $10 to $75, and checked bags are priced by route and by when you add them, per segment, with the exact price shown in Allegiant's Baggage Fees Calculator or at booking. Overweight bags add $50 (51 to 70 lb) or $75 (71 to 99 lb, since no bag over 99 lb is accepted), and bags over 80 linear inches add $75.

Allegiant doesn't publish one bag price. It changes with your route and with when you add the bag, so the only number you can trust is the one Allegiant shows you for your own flights. Here's how to get it.

For a sense of range, Allegiant's fee table lists a carry-on at $10 to $75 per flight. A checked bag of 51 to 70 lb adds $50, 71 to 99 lb adds $75, and a bag over 80 linear inches adds $75. At the airport, an oversized personal item costs $50 to $75, and a gate-checked bag runs $0 to $75.

1. Start a booking on allegiantair.com with your real dates, airports and number of travelers.
2. On the bags step, add a carry-on or checked bag for one traveler and write down the price for each flight. Allegiant charges per flight, so a round trip shows two charges.
3. Solo traveler, carry-on only: your personal item is free. If you add a carry-on, your total is the carry-on price on the way out plus the carry-on price on the way back.
4. Round trip with 1 checked bag: add the checked bag price for the outbound flight to the price for the return flight.
5. Family of four, 2 checked bags, round trip: add one checked bag to two travelers. Your total is the price per bag, times 2 bags, times 2 flights.
6. Compare the bags one by one with the bag bundles Allegiant offers. Bundles can only be bought when you book, and they're non-refundable.
7. Already booked? Open Manage Travel to see and add bags before you check in at the airport or print your boarding pass. Airport prices are higher.

Why Allegiant has no single bag price

Allegiant prices carry-on and checked bags by route and by when you add them. The only published carry-on figure is a range ($10.00 to $75.00), and checked bags have no published range at all. For a real number, enter your route in the Baggage Fees Calculator on Allegiant's optional services and fees page, or add bags during booking and read the price shown there.

How to pay the least

• Add bags when you book. Allegiant says that's when you save. when to pay airline bag fees
• Missed it? Add bags in Manage Travel or the Allegiant app before you check in at the airport or print your boarding pass. Allegiant says airport bag fees are higher.
• Travel with only the free personal item (8 × 14 × 18 in, measured packed, including wheels, pockets and handles) and you pay no bag fee at all.
• Keep checked bags at or under 50 lb and 80 linear inches. Overweight and oversize charges are added on top of the bag fee.
• Bundles can only be bought at the original booking and can't be changed later. Check what a bundle includes before choosing it.

What counts as a personal item on Allegiant

A purse, briefcase, laptop computer, small backpack, small camera or food container, stored completely under the seat in front of you. If it doesn't fit under the seat or exceeds 8 × 14 × 18 in, Allegiant can treat it as a carry-on and charge for it. airline bag sizer guide These don't count against the one carry-on plus one personal item limit: necessary medical and assistive devices (including strollers), one jacket or coat, a small umbrella, food for the trip, and a diaper bag.

Round trips and multi-segment trips

Allegiant fees apply per segment, meaning one take-off and one landing. A round trip is two segments, so the bag price applies in each direction.

• Only the personal item is free. A roller bag in the overhead bin is a paid carry-on.
• Your personal item must fit fully under the seat, up to 8 × 14 × 18 inches including wheels, pockets and handles. A bag that doesn't fit can be charged as a carry-on.
• Bags are charged per flight. A connection or a round trip means more than one charge for one bag.
• Waiting until the airport costs more, and once you check in at the airport or print your boarding pass you can no longer add bags online.
• Bag bundles can only be bought when you book, and they're non-refundable. Changing your dates or destination can add charges for items in the bundle.
• You can reserve up to 4 checked bags each online. No bag over 99 lb is accepted at all.
• Sports gear has a lower limit: 70 lb, compared with 99 lb for a regular checked bag.
• A personal item that's too big at the airport costs $50 to $75, and a gate-checked bag can cost up to $75.

1. Travel with the free personal item only. A soft backpack packs tighter than a boxy case under the seat.
2. Measure before you go. Allegiant's carry-on limit is 10 × 16 × 22 inches and its personal item limit is 8 × 14 × 18 inches, wheels and handles included.
3. Add every bag at booking or in Manage Travel well before your flight, never at the counter.
4. Price a bundle against single bags while you book. You won't get a second chance at the bundle later.
5. Keep each checked bag at 50 lb or less and 80 linear inches or less. A heavier bag adds $50 at 51 to 70 lb or $75 at 71 to 99 lb, and an oversized one adds $75.
6. Wear your heaviest jacket and shoes on board. Coats, umbrellas, diaper bags, strollers and car seats don't count against your allowance.
