Allegiant Personal Item Size (2026)

Allegiant’s free personal item is 8 × 14 × 18 inches (20 × 35 × 45 cm), must fit under the seat, and is included on the base fare. By default it is the only free cabin bag. A larger bag or extra cabin item gets an airport fee of $50 to $75. A full-size carry-on (10 × 16 × 22 in) is a separate paid add-on ($10 to $75 depending on route and when you add it; higher at the airport). On Allegiant’s low-cost base fare, pack to the personal item unless you buy overhead space.

1. Soft bags expand. A backpack that fits empty can fail 8 × 14 × 18 when packed; under-seat fit and enforcement go by the packed bag.
2. An oversized personal item gets an airport fee of $50 to $75; it is not “quietly allowed.”
3. 7 × 15 × 16 is out of date: go by 8 × 14 × 18 from Allegiant’s Contract of Carriage, baggage page and Optional Services fees page.
4. Carry-on size and the personal item are different: Allegiant’s overhead maximum (10 × 16 × 22, paid) is larger, but base-fare flyers only get the smaller bag for free.
5. Allegiant lists carry-on dimensions in a different order from Frontier’s 24 × 16 × 10, so compare carefully; see carry-on size.
6. Check the product names shown when you book; we found no named bag bundles on Allegiant’s pages.
