About BagRule

We cover twelve US airlines: Alaska, Allegiant, American, Avelo, Breeze, Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Southwest, Sun Country and United. For each one we explain:

• Personal items: the bag that goes under the seat, and its size limit.
• Carry-ons: the bag for the overhead bin, its size limit and whether your fare includes it.
• Checked bags: fees for the first and second bag, weight and size limits, and overweight and oversize charges.

Alongside the airline pages, our guides take on the questions travelers ask most, from "will my bag fit" to working out the real cost of a trip once bags are added.

We do not sell tickets, bags or travel insurance, and we are not affiliated with any airline.

BagRule is run by Ahmed Harati, who researches and writes the pages and checks every figure against the airlines' own pages. You can reach him directly at info@bagrule.com.

Every size and fee on BagRule comes from an official airline page: baggage pages, fee pages and contracts of carriage. When an airline page cannot be read, we use a public archive copy of that same official page and say so. When an airline does not publish a number, we write Not published and link to the airline's page so you can check your own flight. We never fill a gap from a forum, a news story or memory.

Each page lists its sources and the date we last checked them. The full method is on our How We Verify Fees page.

Airline rules change, sometimes with little notice. Before you fly, confirm the size or fee on the airline's own site using the links we provide.

BagRule is supported by advertising. Ads are clearly labelled and kept separate from the guide content. Advertisers have no say in what we write, which airlines we cover or how we describe their rules.

Spotted a figure that looks wrong or out of date? Email info@bagrule.com with the page address, the figure in question and a link to the official airline page that shows the correct one. We check every report against the airline's page and fix confirmed errors as quickly as we can. You can also send questions, suggestions for new guides or feedback on anything that was hard to follow.
