Unlike United Basic Economy: Main Base still includes a free carry-on; checked bags are still paid at Main rates.

Gotchas

  • Fees stack: the piece fee, overweight fee and oversize fee can all apply to the same bag.
  • Bags over 99 lb or over 80 linear in are not accepted.
  • Prepaid savings apply only if bags are added more than 24 hours before departure; within 24 hours, the price matches the airport, kiosk and online check-in amounts (adding bags).
  • Peak versus off-peak: check the calendar on JetBlue’s legal fees page (published through mid-2027).
  • The Contract of Carriage PDF may show legacy Blue Basic or older 2nd and 3rd bag figures; go by JetBlue’s live legal fees page.
  • Select markets (Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Haiti, and Trinidad and Tobago): stricter limits; see bag limitations.
  • Up to 2 bags can be prepaid online; the 3rd bag and later cost $200 at the airport.
  • The old Blue Basic fares page linked from Our Fares no longer loads; treat the rename history as unofficial unless JetBlue republishes it.
