Jet2 Cabin Bag Size (2026)

Jet2 includes a 10 kg, 56 × 45 × 25 cm hand luggage bag (wheels and handles in) and a 40 × 30 × 20 cm under-seat bag. An extra bag at the gate costs £45 or €55.

Quick answer

On all Jet2.com flights, each passenger (excluding infants) gets one piece of hand luggage free: max 10 kg, max 56 × 45 × 25 cm including wheels and handles. You may also bring one small under-seat bag (handbag, laptop bag, or airport purchase) max 40 × 30 × 20 cm under the seat in front of you. On busy flights Jet2 may put the 10 kg bag in the hold. Optional Guaranteed Cabin Luggage (extra charge in Manage My Booking, subject to availability) keeps the sized hand luggage in the cabin unless it breaks the size or weight rules or operational rules apply. Check the current Guaranteed Cabin Luggage price when you book; Jet2 does not publish a fixed nationwide fee. Extra, oversized, or overweight hand baggage at the airport or gate costs £45 or €55 per item (official fees FAQ table). Infant hand baggage forms part of the adult’s hand luggage allowance.

Converted inches (Jet2 does not publish inches): 56 × 45 × 25 cm is about 22.0 × 17.7 × 9.8 in; 40 × 30 × 20 cm is about 15.7 × 11.8 × 7.9 in.

Wheels and handles: yes, the 56 × 45 × 25 cm hand luggage size includes wheels and handles (baggage page and Hand Luggage FAQ). Under-seat line states size only (40 × 30 × 20); no separate wheels clause for it.

Sizer and space: hand baggage is “subject to checks at check-in and boarding gates” (fees FAQ). All hand luggage is carried at Jet2’s discretion and may be sent to the hold at the gate for operational or space reasons. Move valuables, meds, docs, spare lithium batteries, and electronics with lithium batteries into the cabin piece that stays with you (Hand Luggage FAQ).

Light, Essential and similar: Jet2.com does not sell fares named Light, Essential, Standard or Inclusive with different cabin bags, as Ryanair and easyJet do; neither its baggage page nor its FAQ pages mention them. Bag rights above apply as standard on Jet2.com flights. If a third-party site shows an “Essential Light” label, it is not a Jet2 name; go by your booking confirmation.

Flight-only trap: blogs often say “Jet2 includes 22 kg.” That is Jet2holidays package wording, not standard Jet2.com flight-only. Flight-only means the cabin bag and under-seat bag are free; hold bags are paid.

Guaranteed Cabin Luggage trap: it does not enlarge the bag or raise the 10 kg cap. It reduces the chance the free hand luggage is tagged for the hold at the gate.

Gotchas

  • Jet2 is not Ryanair. Free hand luggage for the overhead locker is standard (10 kg, 56 × 45 × 25 cm).

  • Wheels and handles count on the 56 × 45 × 25 limit.

  • 10 kg is real. There is no “unlimited cabin weight.”

  • Under-seat is separate (40 × 30 × 20). It is not a free second trolley.

  • Under-seat weight not published (the fees table shows a dash). Stick to the published size box.

  • On a busy flight, it may go in the hold. Pack valuables in the under-seat bag or buy Guaranteed Cabin Luggage.

  • Guaranteed Cabin Luggage price varies and is sometimes on offer. Check the current price in Manage My Booking; Jet2 does not publish a fixed nationwide £ price.

  • Extra or oversized cabin bag at the airport: £45 or €55 (published).

  • Infant has no separate hand luggage; it shares the adult allowance.

  • Jet2holidays bookings and flight-only bookings differ on included hold bags. See our Jet2 baggage fees page.

Traveler caution: On Jet2 you already get the 10 kg cabin bag free. The under-seat bag is extra space, not a second suitcase. Guaranteed Cabin Luggage is only worth it if you refuse to risk the hold on a busy flight; check the live price before you buy.

FAQ

What is the Jet2 cabin bag or hand luggage size?
Free on all Jet2.com flights (not counting infants): one hand luggage max 56 × 45 × 25 cm including wheels and handles, 10 kg. Plus one small under-seat bag max 40 × 30 × 20 cm. Source: the official Jet2 baggage page and Hand Luggage FAQ.

Does Jet2 include a free cabin bag on the cheapest ticket?
Yes. Jet2 states 10 kg hand luggage is included as standard on Jet2.com flights. There is no published Light or Essential cabin downgrade that removes the trolley. Confirm what your booking shows for hold bags separately.

What is Jet2 Guaranteed Cabin Luggage?
Optional paid add-on via Manage My Booking, subject to availability. If purchased, Jet2 says you will not be asked to put your hand baggage in the hold unless it is over the size or weight limit or operational needs apply. Price is shown at purchase; check the current price, as Jet2 does not publish one fixed UK £ price.

Can I bring a personal item and a cabin bag on Jet2?
Yes: one 56 × 45 × 25 cm, 10 kg hand luggage and one 40 × 30 × 20 cm under-seat bag (handbag, laptop bag, or airport purchase), under the seat.

What if my Jet2 hand luggage is too big or I bring an extra cabin bag?
Fees FAQ: Extra Hand Baggage and Oversized or Overweight Hand Baggage are not sold online; the airport or gate fee is £45 or €55 per item. Oversize may need to go as hold baggage (hold fees apply).

Is Jet2holidays hand luggage the same?
Yes for cabin: Jet2holidays also states 10 kg hand luggage of 56 × 45 × 25 cm (wheels and handles included) plus an under-seat bag of 40 × 30 × 20 cm. The difference is the hold allowance: holidays include 22 kg of hold baggage per person, excluding infants.
