Cabin: Econo, Member Exclusive, EconoFlex, Premium and Business (and Flex versions): 1 carry-on (56 × 23 × 36 cm) and 1 personal item (41 × 15 × 33 cm) free. UltraBasic: personal item only, except to or from Europe or Asia or with Extended Comfort (see our WestJet carry-on page). An UltraBasic trolley without an exception is checked at the gate: checked bag fee plus a $25 to $30 service fee.

When is the first bag free? Baggage page: EconoFlex, Premium, Business; Silver, Gold and Platinum WestJet Rewards members; WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard primary cardholder plus up to 8 guests on the same booking; Econo and Member Exclusive to and from Asia. Second bag free: Premium, Business, and Silver status and above. Third bag free: Platinum.

Size and weight before extra fees: max 23 kg (50 lb) and 157 cm (62 in) length plus width plus height per bag. Overweight and oversized for all fares: $150 to $177 (baggage page). Europe: overweight bags accepted only up to 32 kg (70 lb); other routes: overweight accepted up to 45 kg (100 lb) (baggage page and terms).

Note on purchase dates (flights terms): for tickets bought on or after April 23, 2026, base fees before tax on Canada and US routes include UltraBasic prepaid $55 for the 1st bag and $70 for the 2nd, Econo prepaid $45 and $60, EconoFlex 2nd bag $60, overweight or oversize $150, and 3rd and 4th bags $150 online or $160 at the airport.
